Required GMAT Scores for Business Schools in France

About GMAT:

GMAT stands for Graduate Management Assessment Test, and it is for the students who are willing to study management courses, especially MBA. The exam is a test of subjects like writing, analytical assessment, verbal and quantitative reasoning and reading skills. The language for the GMAT is English.

1500 and more business schools in the world, including business schools in France accept GMAT scores for admission in business schools. GMAT is a computer based exam, and it is regulated under GMAC (Graduate Management Admission Council). The GMAT formats and paper patterns are constructed by GMAC.

GMAT Syllabus:

GMAT is made of four sections:

Analytical Writing:

Analytical Writing includes a task of analytical essay, and the duration of the time for this section will be 30 minutes.

Quantitative Reasoning

The questions asked in this part of the exam are of arithmetic problem solving and data sufficiency. The time duration for this section is around 60-65 minutes.

Verbal Section

The verbal section consists of Reading comprehension, critical reasoning and sentence correction, and the time duration of this section is 65 minutes.

Integrated Reasoning

The Integrated reasoning contains table and data analysis and multi source reasoning. The time duration for Integrated reasoning is around 30 minutes.

GMAT Scores:

There are two types of scores you will come across:

  1. Unofficial scores
  2. Official Scores

Unofficial Scores:

Once you have finished the test, you have the access to unofficial scores of GMAT on the test centre itself. The scores of Quantitative reasoning, Verbal and Integrated reasoning. That gives you a fair idea of the scores, and if you have enough scores for the university or school you have applied for. If you want it, you can also have a printout of the unofficial scores. However, you cannot use the unofficial scores for the admission.

Official Scores:

The official scores are declared within 3 weeks of the date of examination, the official scores include all four sectional scores. Once the scores are declared, you will get an email notification about the results. You can choose upto 5 institutes at the time of the registration, which will get your GMAT scores once they are available.

GMAT is not the only requirement to study at business schools in France. It is one of the requirements. Some schools might not ask for GMAT altogether. Another requirement for some business schools in France is work experience.
